There were others who said that the Rebel Prince was not a traitor but a hero. I do understand why she was like that, I just don’t agree with it. And although I love Amani and Jin, it was just not the same… Plus Amani herself was much more badass back then, while in this book half of it is her doubting herself and comparing herself to others… It annoyed me, it felt too much like teenage drama and not in a good way. All that tension that I was hoping to see again disappeared. But in terms of romance, the first one is still the best. And these books have some amazing ones! And this last book was better than the one before in that sense. I also love the characters, Djinnies and Demdjis. I love magic and powers and all those things that spice up reality. I was expecting a bit more tension and so on. Have you guys felt that? I can’t really explain it better… And lastly, and more particularly to this book, I really enjoyed all the action in it but more to the end it felt a bit flat. I mean I cried in it and all, – which is not that difficult for me to do but still – but the thing is that along the book I’m gripped but not emotionally attached, although I do care about the characters. Secondly, the writing seems to have less emotionally impact on me than I desired. So, first of all, and I’ve mentioned this before but the books are really different from each other, which made it more difficult to connect. It’s one of the things that kept me gripped in the first place… But others… The world in these books is fantastic and I personally really enjoyed seeing more of it in this book. But, there’s always something that doesn’t fully satisfy me… In the final battle for the throne, Amani must fight for everything she believes in, but with the rebellion in pieces, and the Sultan’s armies advancing across the desert plains, who will lead, who will triumph, who will live and who will die? There were others who said that the Rebel Prince was not a traitor but a hero…
